Poetry Slam

Very late poetry I wrote at the Giles Li Poetry Slam.

--------------

Day to night, week to week.
Devote and stand up to God.
Leaves will grow, change color, and fall.
Animals will be born, fight to survive, and die.
But these will all be left
as the Earth goes around the sun
again and again.
The young will grow old, the uneducated educated,
the unused will go to waste.
Reexamine those around you,
because time never stands still.

-----------

This is what you shall do:
Don't worry about growing up.
Cherish the carefree days.
Break a few rules, step over some lines.
Make some lifelong friends,
experience unforgettable moments.
Find someone you will love forever,
but never ever forget those who loved you first.
